As a Certified Financial Planner at Prosperity Investment Management, my primary responsibilities include creating and managing portfolios alongside my son, RJ Anderson, and advising and servicing Prosperity's clients. With a focus on retirement income services, I've spent over 40 enriching years in the financial services industry. Throughout my career, I've obtained several designations, licenses, and certifications. These include the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) Examination, and the Series 6, 7, 24, 63, and 65 securities licenses (all held through LPL Financial).
What I love about my job is the opportunity to help people and manage their portfolios. Over the years, I've built many long-term friendships with my clients. My workdays are filled with managing portfolios with my son and talking with my friends about their portfolios that we manage for them. It's incredibly gratifying to hear from our clients how their lives have improved because of the work we do. I believe the greatest value I can provide for my clients comes from our thorough research, highly qualified knowledge in investments and taxes, and years of practical experience. These allow us to provide prudent investment and tax recommendations and advice, guiding our clients through some of life’s most challenging times.
The favorite part of my career is discussing investment accounts with my friends and managing their portfolios with my son. Over the past 40 plus years, I've built many friendships with our clients, and I would miss them dearly if I retired. I also enjoy the challenge and creativity of building custom portfolios for our clients with my son, who is also a licensed stockbroker and a CPA. By focusing on after-tax rates of return, we can add great value to our portfolios. It's very rewarding when our clients express their gratitude for our hard work, dedication, and prudent investment recommendations and advice.
Originally from Los Gatos, California, I now reside outside of Chico, California, with my wife, Julie. We have three grown children and two grandchildren. In my free time, my passion is my love for the Lord and spending time with my family. We enjoy traveling together. Our kids grew up enjoying camping, horseback riding, snow skiing, and water sports, and they all had their off-highway vehicles (quads). We all share a strong sense of adventure. When I'm not working, I'm usually with my family, cherishing every moment spent with them.
